With the NFL schedule released, several experts have begun weighing in and predicting how many wins the Indianapolis Colts will have.
The Indianapolis Colts have had one of the better offseasons in the NFL. Their approach was different from most teams. Instead of coming out aggressive, Indy took a methodical approach.
Instead of spending big in the first few days of free agency, Indianapolis was patient. They were ultimately able to work out a trade for Yannick Ngakoue and Matt Ryan, as well as sign Stephon Gilmore.
Some believe the Colts made some of the best moves this offseason and that the acquisition will pay off once the season arrives. Could Indy reach 10 games and punch its ticket to the playoffs?
Cynthia Frelund from NFL Network and her latest projections think so. In a recent piece, Frelund used 75,000 simulations to project the win total of every team. For the Colts, that number was 10 games.

Colts projected to win at least 10 games
Frelund made sure to mention that Indianapolis may ultimately be a 12-plus-win team and that the projection could be selling Indy short. She also pointed out that Indy could be the last remaining undefeated team in the NFL.
Ultimately, her projections have the Colts finishing with 10 wins, which is good enough to win the AFC South and get Indianapolis into the playoffs.
At the end of the day, that’s really what matters and what Indianapolis hopes happens. With one more win last season, Indy would’ve won 10 games and made the postseason.
That didn’t happen, and the Colts used the offseason to try and prevent missing the playoffs again. On paper, Indianapolis already has a much better roster than it did last year.
The defense has really been bolstered and has the potential to be one of the best in the NFL. On the offensive side of the ball, in addition to Ryan, Indy added a lot of young athletic players.
If everything comes together well, the talent should move from the paper to the field and 10 wins should be the floor for this talented Indianapolis team.
