The Indianapolis Colts have signed offensive linemen, Dennis Kelly, who once played with the divisional rival Tennessee Titans.

Prior to the NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts hosted Dennis Kelly on a free agency visit. In the Draft, Indy selected Bernhard Raimann but there was still a need for more depth along the offensive line.

On Tuesday, the Colts returned to Kelly and signed the veteran offensive linemen who will be entering his 10th season as a professional.

Kelly’s former teammate, and current Tennessee Titan, Taylor Lewan broke the news. Considering Lewan is still with the Titans and was reporting on a former Titan joining the rival Colts, Tennessee fans were not happy.

Colts upset Titans fans by signing Dennis Kelly

Scrolling through the comments of Lewan’s news-breaking post, there are plenty of Tennessee fans that aren’t too thrilled with the news. However, they will have the opportunity to see Dennis Kelly twice a year.

For the Colts, they are adding a veteran lineman that has versatility and can provide depth along the offensive line. Kelly is 6-foot-8, 321 pounds, and has been around for a while.

He started his career with three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before being traded to Tennessee, which became his home. He played five seasons with the Titans, 74 games, before going to the Green Bay Packers last season.

After one year away, Kelly now returns to the AFC South and will look to help the Colts dethrone his former team. Kelly has a lot of experience and will likely be used as a reserve and extra offensive lineman for run packages.

Indianapolis will enter next season with the goal of winning the AFC South and competing for a Super Bowl. In order to do that, Indy had to improve its offensive line depth.

Signing Kelly helps a lot with that. It also doesn’t hurt to upset Titans fans in the process.
