The Indianapolis Colts will hope to find some great day three steals in the 2022 NFL Draft as they have in years past.

The NFL has arrived at the final day of the 2022 NFL Draft but there are still many more picks to be made. The third day of the Draft is the most extensive as it contains rounds four through seven.

These picks happen at a much faster rate and they don’t get the glitz and glamor that the players selected in the first or second round get.

However, the last four rounds of the Draft have produced countless great players. At an all-time level and currently, many of the league’s best have been selected in rounds four through seven.

The Indianapolis Colts have also had good fortune in the late rounds. They currently have young players like Grover Stewart, Isaiah Rodgers, Dezmon Patmon, and Zaire Franklin that are making their way in the league after being taken late.

Indy also has had some incredible selections on day three over the years. Hopefully, that’s a trend that continues in the 2022 Draft and they can join this list of names.

Let’s take a look at the best late-round Draft steals for the Colts over the last 20 years.

6. Cato June, LB, Round 6, Pick 198, 2003 Draft

Cato June has found his way back to Indianapolis joining the coaching staff as an assistant linebackers coach. However, he got his start in the league as a linebacker for the Colts.

June played college football at Michigan and he was selected by Indianapolis in the sixth round of the 2003 Draft. He would eventually play a part in helping Indy overcome another Michigan sixth-rounder.

June got off to a slow start with the Colts, not playing much as a rookie but he earned a starting spot in his second season and begin to show out.

In his next three years in Indianapolis, June put together three consecutive 100-tackle seasons and made a Pro Bowl in 2005. He also became a turnover specialist, recording 10 interceptions and two defensive touchdowns over those three seasons.

June’s final season with Indy was in 2006 when he helped the team win Super Bowl 41. He would go on to play a few more years with different teams but he will forever be stamped as a champion with Indianapolis.
