General manager of the Indianapolis Colts, Chris Ballard, revealed that it’s still possible that TY Hilton may return to the team.

The Indianapolis Colts will likely boost their wide receiver room during the NFL Draft at the end of April but they may also be getting some veteran help soon.

There are several high-profile veteran receivers still on the free agency market and Colts legend, TY Hilton, is one of them. At times, it seemed like his playing days in Indy were over but that may not be the case.

In Chris Ballard’s pre-draft press conference, he took time to speak on Indy’s receivers and admitted that he and Hilton have still been communicating and there’s a possibility TY returns to the Colts.

Ballard said that he and Hilton have exchanged texts but it will take a serious sit-down conversation to determine if they can continue one of the best franchise and receiver partnerships in the league.

Hilton and Indianapolis is a relationship that started 10 seasons ago when the Colts drafted TY in the third round of the 2012 Draft. Since that point, Hilton has become one of the greatest receivers in franchise history and was one of the top receivers in the NFL in the last decade.

Playing his entire career with Indianapolis, Hilton caught 631 passes for 9,691 yards and 53 touchdowns. He was also selected to four Pro Bowls during that time.

Now, at 32 years old, Hilton ended last season admitting that he was going to contemplate retirement. Ultimately, TY decided that he still wants to play and that it could be with any team.

Earlier in the offseason, he was linked to the Dallas Cowboys but nothing serious has surfaced with any team, so a return to Indy is still an option.

Ballard and Frank Reich have been complimentary of Hilton all offseason, expressing their belief that he can still play on multiple occasions.

The Colts desperately need help at wide receiver and since Hilton is still looking for a team, it makes sense for him to return to the franchise that has always been home.

Seeing Hilton in a jersey other than Indianapolis wouldn’t even be right. He could return to Indy and join a talented roster to help chase an elusive Super Bowl victory.
