Texans drafting Kyle Hamilton could trouble the Colts

The Houston Texans have two first-round picks and five total selections in the first three rounds and they need them all because they need a lot of help.

There’s no need to pretend that Houston is just a pick away from taking over the division. The Texans are at the start of a rebuild that will likely take at least a couple of seasons.

However, Houston could select a player that could give the Colts fits for the next decade, whether Houston is good or not. With picks at No. 3 and No. 13 in the first round, the Texans are unlikely to select a quarterback, so that’s not a worry.

However, Houston could select Kyle Hamilton at No. 13 and that’s a player that could do damage against Indianapolis and many other teams in the NFL.

When the college football season ended, many felt that Kyle Hamilton was the top prospect in this Draft class. If not No. 1, he was a consensus top-three player.

Since that point, his stock has fallen. People have expressed concern with his 4.59 40-yard dash, and others have questioned if a safety is worth being drafted high.

Despite all of the discussion, all it takes is turning on Hamilton’s Notre Dame film to see that he is a baller and has the tools to be a game-changer at the next level.

Hamilton is a 6-foot-4, 220-pound safety that can come downhill to make big hits while also playing with the range to defend the pass all over the field.

With Houston now needing a safety after the departure of Justin Reid, it may take a look at Hamilton at No. 13. If that’s the case, the Colts will have to deal with him disrupting offensive game plans for as long as he’s in the division.
