4. Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock – 2019 Draft

The 2019 Draft was one that saw three quarterbacks selected in the first round. The fourth quarterback taken in that class was Drew Lock.

Lock went in the second round when the Denver Broncos called his name at No. 42 overall. In the three seasons since he was drafted, his career has been a roller coaster.

He started his rookie season injured, but returned to start five games for Denver and helped the team go 4-1. He completed 64% of his passes for 1,020 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions.

This allowed Lock to return in 2020 as the starter but he had a season filled with uneven performances and injuries. He finished the year throwing a league-high 15 interceptions.

In 2021, Lock lost a quarterback competition to Teddy Bridgwater and once the season ended, he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in a package that brung Russell Wilson to Denver.

That means, ultimately, the Broncos didn’t find their quarterback of the future in Lock at the No. 42 pick.

Some experts believe Indy will select a quarterback in this year’s Draft 42nd overall but like Denver, it’s unlikely that the Colts land on a guy that will adequately fulfill the role of franchise quarterback.
