Colts hit a home run after trading up
This would be the biggest move the Colts could make in the draft. To get Malik Willis, it will require a significant trade-up into the first round where he will likely be selected.
Malik would be a different style of quarterback the Colts could go with, which would be fun and exciting. Willis is mobile and has an arm to make plays down the field.

Once considered the best quarterback in the draft, Willis is often in the top three rankings for quarterbacks in the 2022 draft class. Because of that, many thought Indy wouldn’t have a chance at drafting him.
However, Willis had a private workout with the Colts, which means they could be considering him in the draft. Unless Willis slides, Indianapolis would either have to give up a player or a lot of picks to get in range to select him.
That could be a risky move, especially since Willis will initially sit behind Ryan, but if Indy really believes in his talent it’s a possibility. The talent is definitely there in Willis, but will Willis be there for the Colts to draft.
