Even though the Indianapolis Colts got their veteran quarterback through a trade, they could pair him with a rookie in the draft.

The Indianapolis Colts have recently been meeting with quarterbacks over the last few weeks to see what is available. This could be due diligence, but this could also show signs that they could have found someone they like in this year’s Draft.

The chances the Colts select a quarterback will be slim, though. Chris Ballard is not one to reach for a draft pick and will rather them fall to him in the draft.

Selecting a quarterback in this year’s draft may take a trade-up or even a trade-back in certain situations.

It’s clear that the quarterback class this year is not nearly as strong as it has been in the past, but there are a few players that teams will take the chance on.

It looks like Sam Howell, Malik Willis, Desmond Ridder, Matt Corral, and Kenny Pickett are going to be the top quarterbacks in this draft. Will the Colts go for one of these top five or do they have their eyes on someone else?

Let’s rank six quarterbacks that Indianapolis may decide to take a gamble on.

Carson Strong isn’t the strongest solution

Several fans have wanted Carson Strong to be the next quarterback that Indy selects in the draft. I’m not entirely sure why, other than the fact that he has a cannon of an arm.

Strong isn’t exactly mobile, which puts you into a bind if he sees a lot of pressure. In the past, the Colts have needed a quarterback that has been able to extend plays.

With the league getting faster, Strong is not an ideal candidate to lead your franchise for the next decade or two.
