Grant Calcaterra is the third-best option at tight end

Recently, Grant Calcaterra met with the Indianapolis Colts for interviews. Does this mean the Colts are looking to draft him? Potentially.

It’s no question that Calcaterra is one of the top tight ends in this year’s draft. He’s currently ranked as the fourth-best in this year’s draft, according to Pro Football Focus.

Last year, the Colts selected Gransen, also a product from SMU. This would pair the two players up to be a duo for Matt Ryan.

Per The Draft Network, Calcaterra stated that the Colts are one of the teams he has heard from the most during the draft process. This is a sign that he could be the guy that Ballard is looking at this draft.

Although, Ballard doesn’t often show his hand when it comes to the draft, so this could be a distraction to take eyes off another player.

This is a pick that could likely be taken in the fourth round, so if the need for another player is there in the third, I’d expect the Colts to hold and let Calceterra fall to them.
