Social media files show that newly acquired safety, Armani Watts, was meant to be a member of the Indianapolis Colts.

On Tuesday, when the Indianapolis Colts signed free agent safety, Armani Watts, he didn’t get the warmest reception. It wasn’t anything personal with Watts, but fans just had their sights set on another former Kansas City Chiefs safety.

Watts was a good sport about the situation and expressed his excitement to join Indianapolis despite the cold reception from fans.

Fortunately, the internet moves fast. Just a day after many fans were saying Watts was the wrong Chiefs safety, Colts Nation has been warmly embracing the newest member of the team.

What changed in those 24 hours? Someone did some social media digging and discovered that Armani Watts vehemently hates the New England Patriots.

New Colts safety Armani Watts hates the Patriots

This isn’t newfound hate, Watts has tweets dating back to 2012 expressing his dislike for New England. In 2012, Watts was 16 years old, so he’s true to this.

There were multiple tweets found of Watts talking about how he hates the Patriots and trolling their fans. Some were even NSFW, showing the hatred was very real.

Obviously, that’s a mentality that is welcomed in Indianapolis. New England is the biggest rival of the Colts and the two franchises have a storied history of competing against each other.

Last season was a start of a new chapter in that rivalry when many young players got to play in it for the first time in a primetime Saturday night matchup.

The Colts won that game 27-17 after Jonathan Taylor broke off a 67-yard touchdown run to put an exclamation point on a dominant performance by Indianapolis.

Fortunately for Watts, he won’t have to wait long to get involved in the rivalry. The Colts are scheduled to travel to Foxborough and take on the Patriots this upcoming season.

The week and time haven’t been finalized yet but it will likely be slotted at a big-game time. Watts will have the opportunity to showcase his hatred for New England in a massive rivalry game.
