Colts could draft Tariq Woolen

Tariq Woolen is one corner that has already been linked to Indianapolis in mock drafts. The rangy defensive back out of UTSA would be a good pick-up for Indy.

At 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, Woolen brings great size to the cornerback position. He also brings elite athleticism, running a 4.26 40-yard dash and jumping 42 inches in the vertical jump.

That athleticism and size can’t be taught but Woolen will need additional coaching as he transitions into an NFL corner because the position is still relatively new for him.

In his first three years at UTSA, Woolen played wide receiver. In 2020, he made the move to cornerback and remained there for his last two years of college football.

Woolen took to the position well, performing well enough that he is a top-10 cornerback prospect in this draft. With his size and athleticism as a foundation, many teams are excited to watch him grow into a defensive back.

The Colts will probably be able to draft Tariq Woolen in the third round. He may not be an immediate starter but he has the tools to eventually be a dominant corner.
