The Indianapolis Colts will be tasked with rebuilding the defensive backfield, especially after trading away Rock Ya-Sin.

Last season, the Indianapolis Colts had one of the best defenses in the league. They flew around making plays, having a special ability to force turnovers.

One thing the defense didn’t have was pass-rushing. Despite spending the first two picks of last year’s draft on edge rushers, Indy wasn’t able to sustain a dominant pass rush.

The Colts addressed that this offseason by trading for defensive end Yannick Ngakoue. Ngakoue will join a defense with DeForest Buckner, Darius Leonard, Kenny Moore, and other emerging players to make up one of the best units in the NFL.

The one big problem this defense has is a lack of depth at the cornerback position. In order to acquire Ngakoue, Indianapolis had to trade away the promising Rock Ya-Sin.

Ya-Sin started for Indy last year along with Xavier Rhodes, now, neither are on the roster. This means the Colts have to go back to the drawing board and rebuild the team’s cornerback position.

Indy does have young guys like Isaiah Rodgers and Brandon Facyson, but it’s going to take more. It’s also possible that Indianapolis may add one of the veteran free agent cornerbacks, but that still won’t be enough.

To complete the makeover, Indy will have to turn to the draft to bring in more young and talented corners. Here are three corners the Colts can select in the 2022 Draft.
