The Indianapolis Colts could have a new receiver target in DeVante Parker after the recent blockbuster moves around the NFL.

The Indianapolis Colts have finally added a quarterback after trading for Matt Ryan. The team has also decided to give Matt Pryor a shot at left tackle and traded for Yannick Ngakoue.

With about a month until the NFL Draft, the Colts already have answers to some of the positions that were a concern entering the offseason. One position the team hasn’t addressed is wide receiver.

Indy’s receiving room is lacking behind Michael Pittman Jr. and the team hasn’t been involved in all of the receiver movement this offseason. That could change after the latest receiver domino that fell.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Miami Dolphins traded for six-time Pro Bowler Tyreek Hill, sending a haul of picks to the Kansas City Chiefs. The big acquisition now brings the future of some of Miami’s current receivers into question.

Similar to the Los Angeles Rams, who traded Robert Woods shortly after signing Allen Robinson, the Dolphins could be willing to part ways with productive veteran DeVante Parker.

DeVante Parker may become available for Colts

Parker has been with the Dolphins since being drafted by the team in 2015. He’s been a productive receiver in Miami since his rookie season, having his best year in 2019 when he caught 72 passes for 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns.

Those were all career highs and the only year that Parker played every game of a season. Parker doesn’t miss a lot of games, averaging 13 a year, but the 2019 season just shows how high his production can climb when he is on the field for every game.

In 2019, Parker signed a four-year extension with Miami, but he is a name that has always garnered interest from other teams. With the addition of Tyreek Hill in Miami, that interest will certainly ramp back up.

The Colts have remained out of the mix on many of the other receivers but there isn’t really a reason why they shouldn’t at least call about Parker.

He’s not the biggest name that will be moved this offseason and it definitely shouldn’t cost too much to acquire him, but if he joins Indianapolis, he would immediately upgrade the wide receiver unit.

Parker is an upgrade over every current receiver on Indy’s roster not named Pittman and that alone should have the Colts interested. Indy can’t afford to sit back and watch another receiver traded without trying to land them.
