The Indianapolis Colts have already missed out on several players that would have been a perfect fit for Indy.

One week into free agency and things haven’t been eventful on the market for the Indianapolis Colts. They made trades for Yannick Ngakoue and Matt Ryan but Indy has made very few signings.

Meanwhile, teams all around the league have been aggressively pursuing players to add to their rosters in hopes of competing for Super Bowls.

Many of the players that have joined other teams would have been great fits in Indianapolis. These players could’ve turned the Colts down because of money or because Indy didn’t have a quarterback at the time.

Either way, Indianapolis has missed out on several players that it could have used. Here are three players that were perfect fits that Indy missed out on.

Allen Robinson would’ve been a perfect fit for Colts

Entering the offseason, one of Indianapolis’ biggest needs was the wide receiver position. When the Chicago Bears decided not to franchise tag Allen Robinson, it became clear that he would be one of the top free-agent receivers available.

Robinson ultimately signed a three-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams and helped the rich get richer while the Colts are still struggling at receiver.

Robinson, who made the Pro Bowl back in 2015, just finished a four-year stint in Chicago. In those four seasons, Robinson played in 57 games and caught 293 passes for 3,561 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Robinson put up these numbers with instability at the quarterback position. Pairing this level of production with the emerging Michael Pittman Jr. would have drastically improved Indy’s receiver room.

However, Allen Robinson has played his entire career with uncertain quarterback situations. It only makes sense that he would choose Matthew Stafford and the defending Super Bowl Champions over the Colts, who didn’t have a quarterback at the time of his signing.
