The Indianapolis Colts traded Rock Ya-Sin to acquire Yannick Ngakoue and Ya-Sin’s teammates are sad to see him go.

Wednesday afternoon, the Indianapolis Colts made their second major move by trading for pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue. The move filled a pass-rushing void that Indy had been trying to fill for a few seasons.

While the acquisition of Ngakoue was much needed, the Colts did have to trade away promising young corner Rock Ya-Sin. Ya-Sin and Ngakoue were the only two pieces of the trade.

Ya-Sin just finished up his third year in the NFL and had his best season yet with Indianapolis. Because of his growth as a corner, many fans are sad to see him leave.

Ya-Sin’s former teammates also expressed how tough it is to see him go. Fellow defensive back, Kenny Moore, tweeted a GIF of a teary-eyed SpongeBob before commenting another tear on the post that reported Ya-Sin would be moved to Las Vegas.

Moore followed that up with a tribute post to Ya-Sin where he said that they are “brothers in real life.”

Rock Ya-Sin trade is bittersweet for Colts

Ya-Sin was drafted by Indianapolis in the second round of the 2019 draft. He was a day-one starter for the Colts and immediately flashed the potential to be a quality corner in the league.

Ya-Sin did have some bumps along the road where he struggled at times in coverage, primarily with penalties, but he was able to grow through those struggles and became the top cornerback for Indianapolis.

Last season, Rock Ya-Sin was the fifth-highest graded cornerback in man coverage throughout the league. He had become a dependable weapon for Indy and many were excited about his future.

He now will continue his development with the Las Vegas Raiders and Indianapolis will benefit from the addition of Yannick Ngakoue on the defensive line.

Leonard and Moore, who both have been doing major recruiting for the Colts, will certainly welcome Ngakoue with open arms but they will also miss lining up alongside Ya-Sin.
