Colts get better in the secondary

Indianapolis could get even better on defense and not only win the turnover battle again but blow other teams out of the water.

The best offense is a better defense, sometimes. Adding J.C. Jackson to the Colts’ secondary would put him back there with Julian Blackmon, Khari Willis, Rock Ya-Sin, and Isaiah Rodgers.

Jackson will only be 27, but still the veteran in the secondary in 2022 on Indy’s roster. This signing would make the Colts more powerful on the defensive side of the ball.

With a new defensive coordinator, you need defensive changes. Adding a star power like Jackson to the roster will allow the Indianapolis defense to get even better in 2022.

J.C. combined for 17 interceptions over the last two seasons. That’s something Indy has not seen in a while from the cornerback spot.

Signing Jackson will cost a pretty penny. He is expected to have a market value of about $20.9 million per year. Signing a long-term deal to keep him here for at least four years is a must. This should be a move that Ballard does not shy away from.
