Jimmy Garoppolo is an option for Colts

Indianapolis suddenly has a couple more draft picks in its possession and one of those can be used to get Indy’s next quarterback. Not by draft though, by trade.

After coming to the doorstep of a Super Bowl appearance, the San Francisco 49ers are deciding to move on from Jimmy Garoppolo for the younger Trey Lance.

Garoppolo just recently had surgery on his throwing shoulder but it has been reported that everything went well and he should be ready to go by training camp.

Despite coming off of shoulder surgery, Garoppolo may be the quarterback on the move that teams are most comfortable going after.

Although his current team is moving on from him, he has had a productive career in the NFL. His teams are 33-14 when he starts, he has a career completion percentage of 67.7, and he has thrown 71 career touchdowns to just 38 interceptions.

Garoppolo also helped lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance in 2019 and was a couple of plays away from doing it again last season.

The only concerns about Jimmy G are very similar to the ones many had for Carson Wentz. Garoppolo has sustained a lot of injuries and at times can make costly mistakes on the field.

However, If Jimmy G was acquired by Indy, the Colts will still be in a position to contend for a championship. Indianapolis could load up with weapons in the draft and free agency and if Garoppolo remains healthy, he can provide solid quarterback play.
