Colts can target Tyler Conklin

Tyler Conklin is a young tight end coming off a breakout season with the Minnesota Vikings and has set himself up for a nice payday.

Conklin was drafted by Minnesota in the fifth round of the 2018 draft and has been with the Vikings ever since. His career started as a backup tight end, rotating in for his first three seasons.

In those three years, Conklin caught 32 passes for 329 yards and one touchdown. In his fourth season, Conklin took over the starting job and put up better production than his first three years combined.

In 2021, Conklin caught 61 passes for 593 yards and three touchdowns. Now with his rookie contract expired, he gets to hit the market and capitalize off his impressive season.

Indianapolis can use Conklin at tight end. Conklin is young and should be able to produce like he did last season for many more years.

Additionally, while Conklin will garner interest, he didn’t put up the numbers that will demand a bank-breaking contract. He should be an affordable option that can join the Colts and immediately contribute.
