As the NFL prepares for a new League Year, teams are already being ranked. See where the Indianapolis Colts stand in rankings.

It’s officially the NFL offseason. The start of March brings the combine and also brings us closer to the start of the 2022 League Year.

That day is March 16 and as it approaches, teams will begin to franchise tag players, prepare for free agency, trade negotiations, and the draft.

Before all that fun begins, it’s nice to look at where teams stand before they start making offseason moves. There have been several expert power rankings since the conclusion of the Super Bowl.

The Indianapolis Colts are one of the most interesting teams heading into the offseason. They have a very strong roster with some obvious question marks at certain positions. That’s reflected in the offseason power rankings.

Where do Colts rank in offseason Power Rankings?

Indianapolis is obviously a talented team but there’s a big mystery surrounding the roster: who will be the team’s quarterback next season? That question has the Colts entering the offseason with a range of rankings.

Entering the final week of the regular season, Indy had an average power ranking of 12. Since that point, Indy was embarrassed by the Jaguars, missed the playoffs, and opened up the quarterback position. With all of that happening, the Colts have an average offseason ranking of 14.

ESPN ranked Indy at No. 13, saying that Indianapolis is in the same spot it was last offseason, searching for a quarterback.

NFL.com put the Colts at No. 9, acknowledging the roster’s talent and also saying that it may be best to stick with Carson Wentz.

CBS Sports has Indianapolis at No. 14 and thinks the hire of Gus Bradley will take the defense to new heights.

NFL Spin Zone ranks Indy at No. 19, citing the offensive concerns at not only quarterback but receiver as well.

FanSided slots the Colts at No. 16, praising stars Jonathan Taylor and Darius Leonard but demanding more consistency of the team.

Regardless of the ranking, Indy was pretty consistently recognized as a solid team with a big question at quarterback and a few other positions. That means the Colts could use a big offseason.

If Indianapolis attacks the trade and free agency market and has a successful draft, the team could rise in rankings before Week 1 arrives and be an even better football team once games actually start.
