Carson Wentz could land with Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers have been frenetically searching for a quarterback, so it’s safe to assume they will target every quarterback on the move.
In the last two years, Carolina cut Cam Newton, signed Teddy Bridgewater to a three-year, $63 million deal, then traded him to the Denver Broncos after one season.
A week before trading Bridgewater, the Panthers acquired Sam Darnold via trade and quickly exercised his fifth-year option. When Darnold went down with an injury mid season, Carolina signed Newton to finish out the year.
Now the Panthers enter the offseason with Darnold set to return but still no answer at the quarterback position.
Carolina has problems that run deeper than the quarterback position but the team is set on finding a player that will somehow emerge in the mess. Although that’s unlikely, the Panthers will still search.
This offseason, their search may lead them to Carson Wentz. The moves made in the last two years indicates that the franchise doesn’t really care about money, so maybe they will be willing to take on Wentz’s contract if it means possibly improving.
