Colts must add dynamic receivers

Jonathan Taylor is great and “run the damn ball” was terrific advice for Indianapolis this past season. It will also be the team’s philosophy moving forward.

But for the Colts’ offense to completely open up, Indy has to add at least one more dynamic receiver, possibly more.

This past season, Michael Pittman Jr. was the only Indianapolis receiver over 400 yards. The good news is, Pittman, in just his second season, looks like he’s on his way to being a No. 1 receiver.

The bad news is, the Colts don’t have a No. 2 receiver. TY Hilton is contemplating retirement, Zach Pascal is entering free agency, and Parris Campbell has struggled to stay on the field. Additionally, neither of the three provided a consistent threat opposite Pittman.

The landscape of the NFL shows that adding an elite receiver does wonders for a team’s success. This offseason, the Colts will have plenty of opportunities to add a quality receiver.

The draft and free agency market will be loaded with receiver talent and there are a few trade candidates as well. Indianapolis not upgrading at receiver would be the most unforgivable decision the team could make this offseason
