Colts could sign Jeff Wilson

Okay, here me out. Indianapolis already has Jonathan Taylor and doesn’t need another starting running back. However, with Marlon Mack on his way out and Nyheim Hines not really playing a vital role in the Colts running game, Indy needs to think about a backup.

Hines could be more pivotal in the passing game out of the slot. Leaving a huge need for a backup running back. Every team in the NFL that is worth anything has multiple running backs that can play at any given point.

Insert Jeff Wilson, who is being underutilized in San Francisco. Wilson could be the change of pace running back that takes hits off of the All-Pro running back.

Just a year out from Wilson being the guy on the 49ers roster, he got passed up by rookie Elijah Mitchell due to injury. Bringing in Jeff allows him to fully heal and rehab, as well as bring support to the running back position next season.

Considering he wasn’t the premier back, and all backs in San Francisco lost snaps to wide receiver Deebo Samuel, Wilson could come to Indy on a cheaper deal worth around $3 million. Considering they paid Mack $2 million this past season, this is cheap and could greatly improve the running back room.
