Colts should watch WR Keith Corbin at HBCU Combine

Every quarterback needs some quality receivers, especially if the team wants to compete for championships. That’s why Indianapolis needs to focus on bringing in pass catchers this offseason.

Whoever the Colts have at quarterback, the franchise has to give them more weapons. One of those weapons could be Jackson State receiver, Keith Corbin.

Corbin was a part of maybe the most popular HBCU football team in recent memory with the Jackson State Tigers. Coached by Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, JSU is leading the charge of a cultural shift that is getting HBCUs more notoriety.

When all of the cameras were on Jackson State, Corbin was one of the talents that frequently jumped out. In 13 games, Corbin led the Tigers with 69 receptions for 921 yards and seven touchdowns.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Corbin, started his career at the University of Houston. In 41 games there, Corbin caught 94 passes for 1,467 yards and 13 touchdowns before deciding to finish his career at Jackson State.

Throughout his time at both universities, Corbin had a knack for making spectacular catches. From contested grabs to impressive toe-drags, his quarterbacks knew they could throw it his way and he would find a way to come down with the ball.

That’s a skill set that’s always welcomed in the NFL and one that’s certainly needed on the Colts. Outside of Michael Pittman Jr., Indianapolis doesn’t have many reliable receivers that are set to be on the roster next season.

Corbin is one of the many prospects that will be at the HBCU Combine that could possibly fulfill Indy’s needs.
