3 prospects Colts fans should watch at HBCU Combine
Colts should watch QB Aqeel Glass at HBCU Combine
All offseason for Indianapolis, there will be conversation about the quarterback position. Indy doesn’t necessarily seem committed to Carson Wentz but there’s no clear answer of what the next step is.
A possibility could be drafting Alabama A&M quarterback Aqeel Glass. Glass isn’t grading out as one of the top overall quarterbacks in the draft class, but he had an elite collegiate career and deserves a look in the process.
In five seasons at Alabama A&M, Glass played in 46 games, completing 58.3% of his passes for 12,136 yards, and 109 touchdowns to just 41 interceptions. He also added 4 touchdowns on the ground.
At 6-foot-5, 215 pounds, Glass possesses a really strong arm and demonstrated toughness, often hanging in the pocket to deliver passes with defenders a step away.
Additionally, Glass has some mobility. He isn’t a dual-threat quarterback but he can move around in the pocket nicely and even escape for significant gains.
The Colts quarterback of the future remains unknown, so they should take the opportunity to explore the talent that Glass has. He should be available in later rounds and once he’s in the facility, there’s no telling how his ability translates.
If Glass can adapt to the pro game the way he did the college level, the franchise he ends up with will be really happy.
