Julian Blackmon shares encouraging footage of his rehab process
Indianapolis Colts safety, Julian Blackmon, recently updated fans on his journey rehabbing from injury.
Everyone in Colts Nation was heartbroken when they learned Indianapolis Colts safety, Julian Blackmon, tore his Achilles in practice.
Blackmon, only in his second season, was one of the game’s young, bright stars. He came into the league, starting in year one, and made an immediate impact for Indianapolis.
So when fans found out that he sustained a season-ending injury, it was sad to know that this budding star couldn’t take the field and also that there would be a void on Indy’s defense.
With the Colts now in offseason mode and their focus turning to next season, Blackmon swooped in to give the fans some joy. He took to Instagram to show his progress in his recovery journey.
Julian Blackmon shares his recovery with Colts fans
As Blackmon states in his caption, this is just three months after the surgery to repair a torn Achilles, so he isn’t running and cutting all over the field, but he is demonstrating a level of progress that should have Indianapolis fans excited.
Blackmon only got to play in six games this season, and his presence was missed in the games he was out. When Blackmon is on the field, he brings a fearless mentality that flies downhill to make secure tackles and also can patrol the secondary to take the ball away or disrupt would-be completions.
In his rookie season, Blackmon had two interceptions, one forced fumble, 42 tackles, and some exciting tackles for loss.
The most promising thing is that was only year one for Blackmon and we probably haven’t seen all he’s had to offer. If he can make a full recovery, he will be one of the best additions for the Colts this offseason.
He will surely come back in year three making up for the lost time and reminding everyone just how good he is and can be for years to come.
