WR David Bell, Purdue
If you are from Indianapolis, you’ve heard the name David Bell at minimum five times over the last year. Bell, an Indianapolis native, has the chance to stay home and play for the hometown Colts.
Before the 2021 NFL Draft, I kept saying on a podcast that Rondale Moore was not even the best Purdue receiver. Purdue’s all-time greatest receiver now enters the NFL draft a year early and could easily go in the first round.
However, because Bell went to Purdue and was not in the national spotlight, his current value is a mid-late second-round pick. That’s perfect for the Colts, since that’s where they will be drafting.
Will Bell be the best receiver to come out of this draft? No. Will he be one of the most impactful? Yes.
Catch of the year?

The athletic ability that allows David Bell to go up and get any catch no matter how it’s thrown is absolutely incredible. This is perfect considering right now the Colts have Wentz, who is not necessarily the most talented passer in the league.
He has the capability to get open in double coverage. Bell’s route running is top tier, as well. Not to mention, he can be one of the most physical receivers in the open field.
Bell’s three seasons at Purdue were filled with big performances and even bigger highlight catches. His spectacular-catch ability is something that should carry over into the NFL.
