Time for Colts to move on from Jack Doyle

The hometown favorite is done, at least in my opinion he’s done. Jack Doyle has had a great career with Indianapolis and it’s time to hang up the cleats. Sadly, there is not much behind him to go with.

Mo Alie-Cox has been the guy that everyone wants to get involved but he never made anything with all the chances he got.

Tight ends are often generational. To get a productive tight end, you almost have to draft the best. The Colts scouting staff hasn’t quite hit the target when it comes to drafting the best tight end and that’s exactly what this team needs. Not to mention, Indianapolis just drafted one last year.

If Wentz is the quarterback in 2022, he needs a new tight end that can be relied on to make plays happen. His most productive season wasn’t throwing the ball to his plethora of receivers, it was throwing the ball to Zach Ertz. Indy needs to find a new Ertz for Wentz to rely on.

Let’s hit this position in free agency, where there are plenty of veteran guys that can help develop newcomer Kylen Granson. There are some big tight end names in free agency this year, including Ertz.

Indianapolis should heavily consider going after one of them in order to improve the passing game next season.
