Former Colts center Jeff Saturday ripped Carson Wentz on a recent interview on First Take.

Any Indianapolis Colts fan that has followed the team over the last two decades knows who Jeff Saturday is and who he has played with. Saturday was the long-time center for Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning.

Someone that’s played with one of the all-time greats should know what good quarterback play looks like. Recently on First Take, Saturday gave everyone his thoughts about Carson Wentz this season.

During his appearance, he discusses that when it matters most, Wentz was not getting the job done for the Colts organization. Some of his criticism is warranted considering how the Colts season ended with terrible losses to the Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars.

The hot topic question now is whether or not Chris Ballard and Frank Reich should move on from their quarterback, who was traded during the last off-season.

Jeff Saturday thinks Colts should move on from Carson Wentz

In the Week 8 Titans loss, that Saturday mentions, Wentz often made some questionable plays, including taking the ball out of the hands of the team’s best player in RPO situations. Wentz then threw two key interceptions, leading to a loss that should have been a win.

Saturday also says that Wentz didn’t come through “at any point” this season and I am not sure what Saturday was watching this year from Indianapolis.

Maybe he looked at the box scores or only focused on the losses, but Wentz had his moments.

There were a few key games that Wentz did get the job done when it mattered, including a key touchdown to Dezmon Patmon in Week 16 against the Arizona Cardinals.

However, he often did not get the job done including the losses to the Titans (both times), Ravens, Raiders, and Jaguars.

Many would count the Seahawks and Rams games, but you can’t put those losses completely on Wentz, as he was dealing with ankle injuries.

In the Rams game, there was a chance that the Colts could have won, but Wentz had to come out of the game after a hit from Aaron Donald. It was Jacob Eason who threw the game-losing interception.

Saturday ultimately says Indy needs to be “looking for the next person.” I’m not sure if Saturday understands cap space or player value, but right now, Wentz has no value for anything good. If the Colts would cut ties, they’d be losing out on a pretty significant investment.

Not to mention, the Colts are without their first-round pick this season after trading it away to the Philadephia Eagles to get Wentz.

Wentz did not do enough to warrant teams wanting to trade for the quarterback and media and former players ripping into him are not going to increase that value.
