TY Hilton won’t return for Colts in 2022

TY Hilton is in the same boat as Doyle, and will be contemplating on if he should retire or play one more season. Hilton’s retirement will be a pivotal moment for Indianapolis as he has been a cornerstone for the franchise during the last decade.

While it may be tough to let go, fans must begin accepting that it’s likely Hilton has played his last game in the NFL.

Hilton was drafted to Indianapolis in 2012 and he spent his entire career with the organization. In that time, Hilton was one of the league’s most productive receivers, playing in 143 games and catching 631 passes for 9,691 yards.

Hilton will officially be a free agent this off-season, and he’s previously expressed that he has considered retirement. He’s always said that when the time does come, it will likely be after a long conversation with Doyle, who he considers a great friend.

Both Doyle and Hilton seem like they are ready to hang up the cleats and enter retirement together. There’s a slim chance that the disappointing finish may tempt them into coming back for one last run, but the safe bet is that they’re calling it a career.

It would be the end of an era, but it will bookend good careers and the remaining Colts players would be able to build on the legacies left by Doyle and Hilton.
