Andrew Sendejo won’t return for Colts in 2022

Andrew Sendejo was signed earlier in the season to for depth purposes, but after Julian Blackmon tore his Achilles, Sendejo was promoted to starting safety.

Often times, it was evident that Sendejo was there out of necessity because he frequently struggled but Indy didn’t have many places to turn.

His short stint for the Colts had a few big hits, but other than that, it was ultimately underwhelming and filled with a lot of missed plays. Like in Week 12, when a missed tackle led to a game-winning touchdown.

Blackmon should be ready to go in time for next season and the Colts can turn a number of directions if they want to find depth for the secondary.

Sendejo was a necessary experiment, but that experiment has run its course and there is no need to do it again.
