The Indianapolis Colts have the opportunity to add explosive receiver, Parris Campbell, just in time for the postseason.

With one game remaining, the Indianapolis Colts have yet to clinch a playoff spot, but they can do that on Sunday with a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Indianapolis also could be adding one of its most explosive weapons just in time for the postseason. Wide receiver Parris Campbell, who had foot surgery in October, was designated for return this past Thursday.

Designating a player for return opens a three-week window where the team can evaluate the player to see if they want to officially activate them to the active roster.

Campbell hasn’t been activated yet, but he has returned to practice and reports are that he looks good.

Parris Campbell gives Colts offense additional weapon for the playoffs

Campbell injured his foot against the Houston Texans in Week 6 on a 51-yard touchdown catch, and that play weirdly represents Campbell’s three-year career. A player with big-play talent that struggles to stay healthy.

After being selected in the second round of the 2019 draft, Campbell has only played 14 games over his first three seasons. He’s battled injury after injury and as a result, many have wondered if Indy should just move on.

However, when Campbell is on the field, he flashes something that makes people want to give him one more chance. In the five games before his injury this year, Campbell had 10 catches for 162 yards and one touchdown.

That kind of deep threat will always be welcomed, and with the playoffs approaching, every team would love an additional weapon.

The Colts could activate Campbell in time for the regular-season finale against the Jaguars. Jacksonville is the perfect opponent to get Campbell up to game speed and reincorporate him into the offense.

If he can seamlessly transition back into the offense, he could be the perfect boost for the postseason: a receiver that helps stretch the field when defenses want to load the box to stop Jonathan Taylor.
