Colts CB Xavier Rhodes must step up to beat Cardinals

Xavier Rhodes got off to a very rocky start this season. He sustained a calf injury right before the first game and it was evident the injury was limiting his play in the first half of the season.

Rhodes has quietly turned things around and it’s made a huge difference for the Colts defense. In his first six games, Rhodes was targeted 30 times and allowed 21 catches for 345 yards and two touchdowns. In his last five games, he has been targeted 25 times allowing only 13 catches for 125 yards and one touchdown.

On Saturday, Rhodes’ improvement will be put to the test. Although the Cardinals will be down DeAndre Hopkins, they still have talented receivers like AJ Green, Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore, and a quarterback in Kyler Murray that can throw the ball all over the field.

They will certainly try Rhodes and he must be prepared for the challenge. If he isn’t, it will be a long day for him and the Indianapolis defense. If Rhodes is prepared to meet the challenge, that’ll give Indy great chances to win this game.
