Bills could prevent Colts from making playoffs

In Week 11, Indianapolis absolutely dominated the Buffalo Bills beating them by a score of 41-15. In Week 14, it was a Bills loss that helped Indy finally break into playoff positioning. With those two events going in favor of Indianapolis, Buffalo still has the chance to prevent the Colts from making the playoffs.

Currently, the only thing separating the two teams is the Week 11 game, that’s the difference between the sixth and seventh seed in the AFC playoff race.

What makes things tough for Indy, is that the Bills have a much easier remaining schedule. In the next four weeks, Buffalo will play the Panthers, Patriots, Falcons, and Jets— only New England has a winning record.

Meanwhile, Indianapolis will be playing the teams that are tied for first place in both conferences.

This means that the Bills can finish the year much stronger than the Colts and end the regular season with a better overall record. That will negate Indianapolis’ head-to-head advantage and force Indy to compete with several other teams for the seventh and final playoff spot.
