Could the Indianapolis Colts’ time on Hard Knocks be used by opponents to gain an edge?

One of the cool parts of the Indianapolis Colts’ 2021 season is that it is being chronicled by “Hard Knocks.” Every week, fans get a new episode that captures the ins and outs of a franchise during a game week.

So far, the program has already given fans several great moments. The intimate look into players’ lives has shown them interacting with family, the community, and just overall great moments in the facility.

One question that typically arises from this type of programming is if opposing teams will be able to use it for additional scouting. Heading into Week 15, this question is more prevalent than ever as Indy is taking on a franchise that will capitalize on every available advantage.

The New England Patriots are historically known for using every possible resource to gain an edge to win football games, so it was only right that Bill Belichick was asked if the Patriots were watching Indianapolis on “Hard Knocks” to gain intel.

Bill Belichick and Patriots using Hard Knocks to scout Colts

In a very Belichickean manner, the New England head coach confirmed what many expected, the Patriots do indeed have people watching the show to possibly pick up on anything that will help them.

Fortunately for Indy, the Patriots shouldn’t be able to find anything that will help them out. The structure of the show does a great job of preventing that.

The Colts’ Week 15 preparation won’t be released until after the game. Additionally, Indianapolis gets to watch every episode before it is officially released and they have full freedom to cut anything they want. It’s unlikely the franchise will allow anything to air that will compromise their chances of winning.

So for Belichick and any other Patriots staffers watching, they will just be delighted to wholesome moments of the Colts players in and outside of the facility.

As for the actual game, it should be a good, competitive matchup and New England can watch next week’s episode if they would like to see how it played out from the Indianapolis sideline.
