Colts should give DE Kemoko Turay more snaps

Earlier in the year, it looked like Kemoko Turay was playing his way out of the rotation and out of Indianapolis. It was the last year of his contract, he hadn’t been as productive or active as he had in years past and Indy got two new rookie-pass rushers.

While all this remains true, and Turay still isn’t likely to be a Colt next season, he’s shown that he’s ready to leave the team a great parting gift.

In Week 13 against the Texans, Turay contributed two sacks in just 17 defensive snaps and flashed the promising talent he showcased his rookie year.

Moving into this final stretch of the season, and hopefully playoffs, one of the most important things a team needs is a quality pass rush. If Turay can consistently contribute in a fashion he did on Sunday, the Colts will have the ability to rotate several edge rushers and keep them fresh so they can get after the quarterback all game.

These three players along with others will need to step up for Indianapolis to weather the storm of these next four games. If the Colts get healthy contributions, they’ll be able to come out of this four-game stretch with a spot in the playoffs.
