The Indianapolis Colts will have some decisions to make on what players to bring back after the season.

The Indianapolis Colts are currently 7-6 as they rest during their bye week. When the team returns in Week 15, their focus will be on beating the AFC’s top-seeded New England Patriots and earning a playoff spot.

Fans, however, have the luxury to look ahead. Ahead for Indianapolis is an offseason that will be loaded with tough decisions. The Colts will be in decent standing as far as available cap space and they will have to divvy up the spending between the draft, free agency, and re-signing players.

While there will be plenty of big-name free agents that Indy will want to woo to the city, there are also a number of guys on the team that will be free agents that Indianapolis must focus on re-signing.

As the season nears an end, so will some of the Colts’ contracts, so let’s take a look at three pending free agents that Indianapolis must re-sign.

Colts must re-sign DE Al-Quadin Muhammad

One player Indy must re-sign is starting defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad. Muhammad re-signed a one-year deal last offseason with Indianapolis and has since had his best season as a professional.

Making a significant jump, Muhammad has started every game for the Colts and has already posted career numbers with five sacks, 37 tackles, and 12 quarterback hits.

In the 2020 draft, Indianapolis selected two defensive ends in Kwity Paye and Dayo Odeyingbo. While both have been proving to be good picks, Muhammad’s growth makes it hard for the team to just allow him to walk away.

He isn’t posting the type of numbers that will demand a bank-breaking contract, so Indy should be able to affordably re-sign him and boast a pass-rush unit with a lot of depth.
