We knew the Indianapolis Colts were in for a challenge once the Buccaneers announced that star run-stuffer Vita Vea would be returning for this one with his eyes on containing Jonathan Taylor.

We had no idea they’d resort to violence in order to shut down the Bucs star.

Midway through the second quarter of what’s been a surprisingly poor performance from Tom Brady’s squad, Vea’s mouth found the hard crown of guard Mark Glowinski’s helmet.

Once he disengaged from the block, one of his teeth followed suit from his mouth. Like father, like son?

The Indianapolis Colts dislodged Vita Vea’s tooth.

The Colts are rocking some throwback jerseys and helmets for this one, so how about a little throwback football as a compliment? Although typically, when people yearn for the days of “smashmouth football,” they’re not actually looking for mouths to get smashed and teeth to fly loosely across the turf.

Now, did anybody grab Vea’s tooth, though, or are the dentists just going to start from scratch on Monday? Judging by the defensive monster’s bloody smile, he doesn’t seem to be too bothered by what just happened in the heat of battle.

The Colts offense, especially when contrasted with Tom Brady’s stuck-in-the-mud effort, should be his real concern. Brady’s bunch has tossed up a few misplaced deep balls, leading to a field day for Isaiah Rodgers on Scotty Miller.

Carson Wentz, meanwhile? He’s connecting, including on this absolutely beautiful downfield laser to Ashton Dulin, who’s quickly becoming a key piece of this roster in a non-special teams sense.

Still, the Bucs have managed to tighten things once again with a touchdown just before half, fighting through the “teeth” of Indy’s defense to assert themselves once again.

Will we watch the Colts fold on their home turf yet again? Or will Brady find himself knocked out like a molar by The Maniac and his swarming henchmen?
