3. Colts corner Xavier Rhodes

Not long ago, Xavier Rhodes was one of the elite corners in the NFL; he was a first-team All-Pro and was selected to three Pro Bowls. But since that point, he’s been cut by the Vikings and battled injuries during his time with Indianapolis.

The 31-year-old had a good season in 2020 which led to the Colts signing him to another one-year deal, but 2021 hasn’t been as favorable for him.

At the start of the season, Rhodes sustained a calf injury that forced him to miss three games total, and he has not looked like himself when on the field.

Playing the position that Rhodes does, cornerback, he doesn’t have much room for vulnerabilities. He’s out there on an island, and any deficiencies will surely turn him into a highlight. That’s pretty much been the case this year, as he has given up catch after catch far downfield.

While there’s a question regarding whether we can blame the injury or if Rhodes is actually declining, it’s unlikely that he remains in Indianapolis to find out. The NFL is pretty unforgiving, and with Rhodes’ age, there’s little to no chance that the Colts re-sign him after the way he’s performed this year.
