2. RB Marlon Mack

Mack appeared to be as good as gone when the trade deadline came around, but the Indianapolis Colts mysteriously decided to hold on to him rather than flip him to a contender for draft picks. Based on how he’s played this season, keeping him makes little to no sense.

Mack only has 109 yards from scrimmage on 30 touches this season. Mack, who has not scored a touchdown this season, is clearly the third choice back behind Taylor and Nyheim Hines. While trading him wouldn’t have earned a ton of draft picks for Indy, it still seems preferable to watching Mack struggle.

Marlon Mack hasn’t given the Indianapolis Colts a boost.

Mack’s numbers are actually inflated by the fact that he had a 22-yard run that makes up around one-fifth of his entire production from scrimmage this season. The decision to keep Mack and not Jordan Wilkins will be a head-scratcher until we get some quotes from Ballard and Frank Reich justifying the move.

Mack can still churn out yards if given the opportunity, but the Colts aren’t giving him much of a chance. The Taylor and Hines partnership appears to be working out just fine, meaning that there is almost no scenario in which Mack will come back to Indianapolis in 2022 and beyond.
