2. Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State

The Colts’ wide receiving corps could look a lot different this time next year.

TY Hilton and Zach Pascal are free agents, and Parris Campbell is likely to get released — or traded if Indianapolis can find a buyer — amid his third straight injury-shortened season. That, in theory, would leave Michael Pittman, Ashton Dulin, Mike Strachan, and Dezmon Patmon as the only wideouts on the roster.

Carson Wentz has shown enough to convince Ballard to give him more weapons. So much so, that we’re open to the idea of spending big on a high-end free-agent AND spending a potential first-round pick on a touted prospect.

Potential Colts target Chris Olave has star potential.

Ballard might feel reluctant to dip back into the Ohio State pool of prospects given how much Campbell, a former second-round pick, has burned him, but fans couldn’t possibly have any qualms if he drafted Chris Olave.

Through just six games, Olave has caught 32 passes for 518 yards and eight touchdowns. The Buckeyes star is a big play waiting to happen, but he’s also capable of dominating as an intermediate receiver.

Call us crazy, but Olave could actually fill the role Indy envisioned for Campbell when they spent a second-rounder on him in 2019.
