1. CB Xavier Rhodes

Rhodes should be on the table if Indianapolis wants to really shake things up. He will be a free agent at the end of this season, and while he’s put in a few solid performances, he hasn’t been the difference-maker that this defense was looking for. The unit’s largely been bad with or without him.

In the modern NFL, you can never have enough quality defensive backs, and that could help Indianapolis get plenty of trade interest for Rhodes. If the Colts waive the white flag or look to get younger players like Rock Ya-Sin or Isaiah Rodgers some more playing time, they could say goodbye to the former Florida State star in a trade.

Xavier Rhodes could get the Colts some draft capital.

Rhodes could bring back a very enticing collection of either players or picks, and it gives Eberflus and Frank Reich a chance to evaluate some of their younger players. Ballard will likely spend a ton of money to revamp this secondary in the offseason, meaning Rhodes could be swapped out regardless next season.

Rhodes helped revitalize his career in Indianapolis after a somewhat chaotic end to his tenure in Minnesota, but Ballard has the power to bring it to an end, especially if Indy loses to Tennessee again on Sunday.
