The Indianapolis Colts got back in the win column by taking down the Texans, but they have a much tougher test ahead of them in Week 7, as they will square off against Kyle Shanahan and the San Francisco 49ers.

Despite more uncertainty at quarterback thanks to a Jimmy Garoppolo injury, San Francisco still has one of the deepest rosters in the league. With Indianapolis far from the picture of health at the moment, they will be in for a dogfight.

With the Titans starting to run away with the AFC South and both the Cardinals and Rams putting some distance between the rest of the NFC West, both of these teams are going to be desperate for a win.

Will Carson Wentz stay hot and lead Indianapolis to a victory? Or will Shanahan’s masterful offensive game planning attack what has been a very disappointing Matt Eberflus defense so far this season?

Colts vs 49ers Injury Report

Indianapolis is still uncertain if they’ll get two of their biggest contributors back for this game in wide receiver TY Hilton and guard Quenton Nelson. They’ll need them against a roster that is as deep as San Francisco’s group has become.

Colts vs 49ers Odds Week 7

According to our friends at WynnBet, the 49ers are favored at -190 on the money line (bet $190 to win $100), while the Colts come in at +170 (bet $100 to win $170). Vegas seems to be envisioning a rough start for Frank Reich and Indianapolis.

If you prefer to bet the spread, Indianapolis has -115 odds to cover the +4 difference and the 49ers are -105 with the -4 advantage. The over/under for Sunday’s game is set at 45 for the duel between Wentz and Garoppolo.

Colts vs 49ers Prediction Week 7

The Colts have seen some subpar quarterbacks light them up this season, and while Davis Mills had some measure of success last week, the fact that they were able to shut Houston down like that one week after Houston almost upset New England is fairly impressive.

San Francisco could have two totally different game plans depending on Garoppolo’s health, as No. 3 pick Trey Lance has a completely different skill set. Having said that, the Colts might have the advantage no matter which quarterback starts.

Indianapolis will contend with either a rookie making his second career start or an immobile Garoppolo that has been up and down for the last few seasons. If Wentz keeps playing well against a secondary that’s been ravaged by injuries, Indy could grab their third win in four games.
