2. Michael Pittman Jr.

Michael Pittman Jr. was only targeted four times in his 2021 debut, hauling in three catches for 29 yards despite playing 97% of the team’s total offensive snaps. Instead of breaking out, he faded further into the foreground, which isn’t typically how “breakout” wide receivers stake their claim on being noticed.

TY Hilton is no longer TY Hilton, and his late-camp injury removed any barrier to Pittman Jr. being the focal point of this offense. Instead, with all eyes on him, he was outshone by the rest of his corps, from Michael Strachan to Zach Pascal.

If you’re a No. 1 wide receiver (by default or by proclamation) and you’re facing the Los Angeles Rams, then buddy, you’re going to be blanketed by a heavy dose of Jalen Ramsey. You might not see the ball a whole lot, and you’re going to need to put in the work at 2x speed in order to have a chance at even a contested catch, not to mention separation.

If Week 1 Pittman shows up for Week 2, he won’t be getting eyeballed by Wentz very often.
