2. Isaac Rochell

It wasn’t a surprise to see Isaac Rochell listed sixth in the defensive end pecking order on the Colts’ unofficial Week 1 depth chart. In other words, Rochell will be lucky to see the field, and we’re struggling to come to grips with why he’s even on the team.

The Colts signed Rochell to a one-year deal this offseason, and we immediately questioned the move. We don’t have an agenda against the former seventh-round pick, but he was very unproductive over his four years with the Chargers.

Isaac Rochell should be grateful that he made the Colts’ roster.

During that span, Rochell started nine games and recorded just 9.5 sacks and 12 QB hits. While he showed flashes during training camp, he’ll need an injury or two to become a regular contributor off the edge for Indy.

With all due respect to the Notre Dame product, he’s lucky Odeyingbo won’t be available for the first several games of the season. If the Vanderbilt product was healthy, Rochell likely would not have made the Colts’ final roster.

Expect Ben Banogu to get more opportunities than Rochell in 2021.
