3. Jordan Wilkins

Jordan Wilkins would land higher on this list, but it might not be possible for him to tumble any lower on the running back depth chart.

If his standing in the backfield wasn’t already clear before Sunday, Wilkins played more snaps than any other RB. To no one’s surprise, he did very little with his workload, tallying just 25 yards on 10 carries, good for 2.5 yards per tote.

Jordan Wilkins looked like a Colts fourth-stringer on Sunday.

Though Wilkins barreled in for a three-yard touchdown run in the final minute of the first half, are we really going to throw him a party for that?

Benny LeMay scored a TD and had arguably the highlight of the game when he carried Carolina’s defense on his back for 12 yards, but everyone knows he’s likely to get cut or begin the year on the practice squad.

While it might be unfair to say Wilkins is “tumbling” down the depth chart, he could be on the outside looking in regarding the 53-man roster if his performance doesn’t improve over the final two preseason games.
