It would be far from shocking to see Tom Brady take a shot at the Indianapolis Colts, his first real NFL rival and the franchise that got him embedded in the Deflategate mess.

That being said … if Pat McAfee thinks the Colts wound up in this particular conversation that has Twitter buzzing and looking for clues, we’re left wondering how they got there.

A clip of Brady cursing a blue streak in a new episode of the LeBron James-produced The Shop: Uninterrupted emerged this week ahead of the ep’s Friday premiere. The only question is: which shade of blue?

While discussing his free agency, Brady blurts out, “One of the teams, they weren’t interested at the very end. I was thinking, you’re sticking with that m*****f***r?”

Most believe, without context, that Brady was trying to reference his hometown 49ers’ aborted pursuit of him, a team that instead opted to keep their Super Bowl-losing lead man Jimmy Garoppolo. Some think it could be the Saints, who had a done deal with Brady until Drew Brees wandered back to the NFL for his swan song.

McAfee, though, told Ian Rapoport he believed the Brady spurners were the Colts, thanks to their preference for Philip Rivers. Huh?

Colts: Was Tom Brady’s shot intended for Philip Rivers?

If Brady chose to call Philip Rivers an MF’er, of all people, it would be especially ironic, considering the old gunslinger’s vocabulary doesn’t really go beyond “daggum”.

Really, though, factoring in every element of Brady’s decision, did anyone think the Colts were in play at the time? What about now? Brady rocking Manning’s old colors would be a confounding sight for any NFL fan over 20 — and, again, this is the franchise that ruined the QB’s life several years back by giving the world an education on the ideal gas law.

On the other hand, TB12 hates Indianapolis so much that he might twist a perceived slight into an attack on the player they chose in a public forum like an HBO show.

Guess we’ll have to tune in Friday, though it doesn’t really seem likely we’ll learn any more about Brady’s proclivities then.

Unless Draymond Green or Kid Cudi target the Colts by name, we might be out of luck here.
