It isn’t a coincidence that the 49ers defense started to drop off a bit when Bosa was lost for the season in the second game of the season due to a knee injury. Bosa helped lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl in his first season, as the No. 2 overall pick was named Defensive Rookie of the Year for his refined pass rush ability.

Bosa was perfect for Robert Saleh’s defense, as he was a tremendous run-stuffer in addition to someone with the ability to rush the passer with relative ease. The 49ers will be healthier after injuries and bad luck ruined their chances last season, and Bosa should be one of many players who could terrorize the Colts.

Nick Bosa could get back on track against the Colts.

Bosa needs to potentially rack up a few sacks in one game against a subpar tackle to get back in the swing of things. Trying Nelson might not be the best idea, but maybe an injured Fisher or plain bad Tevi might be the best place to get back on the right track.

When Bosa is on, and that defense plays up to their potential, Wentz could be in for a very long night. Conversely, if Fisher or Tevi shuts down Bosa, that should make the Colts more confident that this linemen pairing should be enough to last for the entire season.
