1. Colts-Jaguars Blowout Clinches AFC South

Last season, the Colts’ playoff chinch status was undetermined all the way through Week 17.

This year, we suspect Indy will secure a berth prior to their finale, but it’ll take until Week 18 to break a tie with the Tennessee Titans.

Indianapolis Colts 2021 Record Prediction: 12-5

As always, these two teams are extremely evenly matched. Spoiler alert: we expect them to split the season series.

Ultimately, we’re giving the Colts a Week 1 loss to Seattle, one blemish against Tennessee, and losses at Buffalo, Arizona, and Baltimore. The Titans? We beat ’em once, they lose at Seattle, Corey Davis burns them against the Jets (seriously), the Chiefs take them down, the Bills punish them in primetime, and 49ers get ’em at home. Six losses for Tennessee, five for the Colts entering the final game…a blowout, supremacy-declaring victory over Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Yes, the Colts really are the cream of the crop — though we thank the Titans for their good job and good effort.

In this simulation, the Texans and Jaguars don’t pose much of a threat to either AFC South contender, and an exclamation point victory over the Jags christens the New Year and sends Indy to a prime postseason seed. Just the way they drew it up.
