Colts: 3 AFC South rivals Indy can steal in free agency
By Mike Luciano
1. WR Will Fuller, Houston Texans
Fuller might be coming off of a suspension, but he is also coming off of a career year in which he totaled 879 receiving yards and eight touchdowns despite missing five games. The chaos around Houston will likely impede the team’s ability to keep him, and the Colts could lure him away with the promise of riches elsewhere.
Fuller would be filling a big need for Indy, as TY Hilton, the team’s No. 1 target last year, and Zach Pascal are both scheduled to hit the free agent market (though Pascal would be a restricted FA).
How would Will Fuller help the Colts?
Hilton is getting a bit too old, and Pascal doesn’t have nearly as high an offensive ceiling. Fuller, Michael Pittman Jr., and Paris Campbell (if healthy) would make for a hellacious trio of wide receivers for Carson Wentz to target.
Staying on the field has been a problem for Fuller, as he has just one season in which he’s played 12 or more games in his career, and that was his rookie year. Regardless, his ability to stretch the field is needed in Indianapolis, and he could make the Texans pay for unnecessarily tearing down their promising operation.
