No. 1: RB Jonathan Taylor

Are you saying that the guy who ran for five million yards in the Big Ten might’ve been able to hit the ground running in the pros? After some struggles with ball security early in his career, Taylor cemented himself as the top dog in the backfield after Marlon Mack’s injury, relegating Nyheim Hines to the change-of-pace role.

Taylor ran for 1,169 yards, averaging 5.0 yards per carry along the way, while scoring 11 touchdowns on the ground. His obliteration of the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 17 helped put the Colts in the postseason while amassing 253 yards on the ground, one of the top rushing performances in NFL history.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor is becoming one of the league’s best running backs

Even with the retirement of Anthony Castonzo, the Colts will likely be a run-first team that gets Taylor running behind Quenton Nelson and Ryan Kelly. With nearly 1,500 yards from scrimmage amassed as a rookie, the speedy workhorse could easily challenge for a Pro Bowl spot given how he will likely be in the running for an increased workload.

Taylor might not only end up as one of the best backs in the league, but he could start to become one of the best running backs in Colts franchise history. Given the names that have put this uniform on, that is no small feat.
